Dropsy 1.0
----------
Dropsy is a utility which runs in the taskbar tray and allows dragging
shortcuts to executables from the window in which the executable is running
in. For example, to create a shortcut to Notepad on the desktop, one could
click on the Dropsy tray icon, click on the Notepad window, and drag it onto
the desktop.
Dropsy also provides shortcuts to various Windows commands, such as those
to Shutdown, Restart, and Logoff.
Installation
------------
To install Dropsy, copy its files (DROPSY.EXE, DROPSY.HLP, and README.TXT)
into a directory on your hard drive. The C:\WINDOWS directory would be a
suitable place. Once you have copied the files, create a shortcut to Dropsy
in your startup directory. Dropsy will now start up automatically with Windows.
Using Dropsy
------------
Use of Dropsy is documented in the online help. To access this, run dropsy
(dropsy.exe), and make sure that dropsy.hlp is in the same directory.
Right click on the Dropsy icon which appears, and choose Help on Dropsy from
the menu which pops up.
If you want to get right to using Dropsy, I recommend going
through the tutorial. To get to this, choose Help on Dropsy as above, then
click "How do I create a shortcut to a program with Dropsy?", upon which
a new screen of help will appear. Click "Show Me!" here to get a walk-through
of creating a shortcut to Notepad in the startup menu with Dropsy.
